Climate

Temperature GraphPrecipitation GraphClimate: Israel has a temperate climate.  There are deserts in the South causing it to be dry and hot. In the North is higher terrain making the climate cooler, but it is still warm. The climate is very uniform across the whole country not changing much throughout the year.

Seasonality: The annual range in temperature for Jerusalem, Israel is 16 degrees Celsius. The annual range in precipitation for Jerusalem is 140 mm. For Tel Aviv, the annual range in temperature is 8.9 degrees Celsius and annual range for precipitation is 165 mm.

In comparison with Denver, Colorado, the temperature in Israel doesn’t range as much, but the precipitation has a much wider range.

The two cities in Israel have a small seasonality for temperature, but a large seasonality for precipitation.

  1. This is really interesting. I did not know that the temperature high in both of the cities in Israel gets pretty close to the temperature high in Denver.

    • Israel gets very hot in the summer time. The temperatures can easily get above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The Dead Sea is actually the lowest place on earth, so the temperatures there usually stay around 70-80 in the winter time and above 100 in the summer.

  2. It’s really interesting to me to see the vast differences between how much precipitation Israel sees six to eight months out of the year, in comparison to how little it sees during all of the summer months. It’s crazy that they receive SO much during certain periods, and close to none during others. Your blog looks great!
